A Return to the Gym

Well, for those playing along, you probably know that I have not been doing well, and I've been gaining weight. I was back up to 168, and that is just unacceptable. So, today, I started with Diet to Go again, but this time dinners only. We’ll see how it goes. Right now, I think I can handle breaksfasts and lunches, but dinners are the part that kills me.

Also, now that I am back on Diet to Go, I’m starting the gym thing again!

New Food Update

I made up mind. I packed up the food from Nutrisystem and will be sending it back. As much as I didn’t want to go back to Diet to Go, I decided that I lost a ton of weight with them, so I will stick with them for the last 20 lbs or until the wedding, whichever comes first.

It was worth the try, but Nutrisystem really needs to be a bit more forthright with what they offer, and what they don’t offer.

New Food Update

Yea, so I got my food last night from Nutrisytem. So far, I’m very disappointed. Not with the quality of the food (I had a dinner and chocolate pudding and both were edible), but with the extra bullshit you need to put up with.

According to their TV ads and their website, you aren’t supposed to need to worry about anything. They do all the work for you so all you have to do is eat the food they give you, no measuring, no cooking, no counting. Well, that is entirely untrue. I got all the food for a month (breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and desserts), but I need to go to the store and by vegetables, fruit, bread, milk, and some other stuff. The instructions tell me that I can only have a tablespoon of this and a cup of that. How is this not measuring or counting?

I called to see what their return policy is, and it’s pretty decent. All I have to do is return whatever I don’t eat, and they will refund me for that portion. I assume that I will need to pay the postage and handling, but I figure that that is OK.

Since I got a week’s worth of food free, I figure it’s worth trying for a week.

New Beginnings

As many of you know from following this blog, I have been trying to lose weight (mainly for my sisters’ weddings, but also to look fab in my bikini). I was doing Diet to Go, and with them, I went from 187.5 in February to a low of 155. Sadly, I have gained, and this morning I tipped the scale at 160.5.

I very much enjoyed my time with Diet to Go, but they kept making little mistakes on my order. All those little mistakes added up to me deciding to end my time with them. I just placed my order with a new company, NutriSystem. I’m very excited as they seem to have their act together a little more than Diet to Go, but I’m not saying that officially yet. I did notice after I placed the order, however, that I need to supplement this program with my own veggies and fruit. But, I get desserts with this one, it’s cheaper, and as I type this, I realize that actually having to buy fruits and vegetables and prepare them might actually help me ease back into the idea of making food.

Of course, I still like the idea of RC cooking for me, but I guess this will have to do.

Back at the diet

So, I'm back from vacation, and I'm fatter than when I left. I was actually down to 158½ on the 1st of June. Today, I'm sad to report, I tipped the scale at 164½.

I'm not deterred. When I think that I started at 187½, I'm still happy! AND I'm still on my diet, so I should start shedding the pounds again.

bad news on the weight front

Hmmmm. I seem to be going the wrong way here. 4 days ago I was 158 and this morning I was 162, but it was my birthday, and I had cake and sushi. Right after vacation, I'll be back on my diet!!

Weight Goal #3

I've reached my third goal. Today I weighed in at 159 even. 145 is getting closer and closer!

Flattery will get you everywhere

Windstorm once told me that I had a nice voice. I assumed that this was merely lip service, but she said that her mother also believed this to be true. I was flattered, and appreciated the compliment.

Today, I was speaking to a customer service representative with Diet to Go.. I was calling to see if I could use the coupon that they had sent me in an email circular. I have dealt with this woman in the past, and whenever I have customer service issues, I speak directly with her. She is very nice and seems to work hard to ensure customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, she struggles a bit with the English language, and has an extremely thick accent (I believe it is an Hispanic accent).

As she was looking up the information on her computer to see if I qualified for the coupon, she asked me to verify my address, which I did. Then she asked me my age. I assumed this was also part of the verification process, so I told her my age. She sort of giggled and said, “oh, I was just wondering because you have a really nice voice.”

Was the customer service chick flirting? I think so. I was flattered, shocked, and thrown a bit off balance. I finally stammered, “ummm, well, thank you. That is very nice of you to say.”

She has my home address and phone number…I wonder if she will show up at my door?

Weight update

Today, @ 179½, I'm officially below 180!

Weigh-in

Today I weighed 180! That means that I'm down 7½ lbs, and I've hit the first goal! Hoo-Ha!
